National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day

Start: February 7, 2013
End: February 7, 2013
Sep 26, 2012

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), African Americans have the highest risk of being infected with HIV/AIDS.  In 2009, the CDC calculated that African Americans accounted for 44% of all new infections, despite only comprising 14% of the poulation.  We hope you will join us and organizations in your area in recognizing the disparate impact of this disease on minority communities and encourage you to take action on this important day.  For information on activities near you, please visit www.nationalblackaidsday.org.
